Wow, it's been a while. Ever feel like yr juggling too many things at once? Between the DiscRec compilation, Riki Michele, Presskits, Work, Birthdays and all of that, it's a wonder that I'm sleeping. Waitasec, I'm not doing much of that either.

Area615 is shaping up to be a real good'n... it's really chilled out though, which gives me pause. Are we really that laid back down here? Don't answer that. We had some surprise submissions that have rocked our world, meanwhile we are trying to find a good skyline where we can place our cover model. If anyone can get us a downtown rooftop for about 30 minutes, get in touch.

Oh, and here's to wishing my son, Chancellor Grey Dickens a happy transition phase from single to dual digits. 10 years ago tomorrow, Angelique spent roughly six hours sitting on my groin and brought this beautiful individual into the world. Thanks, boy. Just be glad everything still works.

Lordy mercy ... Important Digital Audio Saftey Tip #224: Tempo correcting, silence trimming and file copying are tedious and time consuming tasks. Make sure you have had plenty of sleep before you begin, and plan on spending much longer (at least 2.5x) on these things than you initally estimate. New Turn Off: People who delete their original Logic Audio files to move to another platform and neglect to keep a backup. New Turn Off #2: People who do the above and need to have their firewire drives back tomorrow. No offense meant to anyone, but my sleep sched is now officially skrewed. Sigh...

Oh, and let me remind everyone that Russ Meyer rules ok. Just want to make sure that we've got that straight.

Just got back from seeing a crazy Japanese flick called Dead or Alive at the film festival. It was awesome. They started at "over the top" and went onwards and upwards from there. Tomorrow night, going to see Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! It's not everyday you get to see a Russ Meyer movie on the big screen. Enormous action and enormous ... Tracts of land, all made that much more enormous! The only real downside to the festival this year is that Angelique is the box office intern, just because she's almost too worn out to enjoy any of the films... Oh well.

Sitting here backing up stuff off of a firewire drive - all of the tracks from the Riki Michele album. It took quite some time to get this stuff, and now I haven't yet had the chance to really start playing with it. Gotta get it all safely tucked away so I can get the drive back to the producer. It's been quite an experience dealing with getting this drive, and all I can say is that I'm glad it's not squirrel season. Or is it? Anyway, had a great time last night at "rehearsal" with Dave and Michele, even though is was more of a chill session than a rehearsal. I needed one 'o those anyhow.

Our buddy Scully is going to throw a big idm-keg party, which should give us the opportunity to shake some of the folken out of the woodwork as well as get our proverbial broken grooves on. Maybe we'll throw it right there at NAMM time... Hmmm.

Oh, and since I've noticed that I'm fairly wordy (what a surprise!) and the previous template kept everything in a nice, tight little space (get yr mind out of the gutter!), I've changed the template. Soon I'll customize one. I promise.

Silly wabbit - while I was thinking I was encoding that unreleased track, I accidentally encoded Silver, the second track from feeleffect. I need to name my files better. So, that's fixed now - Life in A Silver Box (which is a very early version of Silver, hence the confusion) is now available for your listening pleasure. I've kept Silver available for anyone who wants it, moving Corba Split off of the front page. You can now find it by clicking on the cover to Feeleffect from the main page.

Spent from 6:45 until 17:45 yesterday proctoring the Certified Financial Analyst certification exam. Those of you who have taken a standardized test or two might remember all of the people involved in handing out the books, reading the instructions, walking around the room making sure you aren't cheating and so forth. That's basically the gig.

I got lucky though and drew the book room proctor position, which meant I had to spend the whole day locked in a room making sure the exam books didn't get up and walk away. Would have been terrible, but since I got to bring my powerbook, I got to actually do quite a bit of werk on a new track. Not too bad to actually get paid for working on music.

Speaking of being productive, I hammered out a track for the latest microsound list remix project this morning - all before 10am... not bad. Fun playing with the new Live. I dig being able to render to disk, and the reverb sounds pretty good to these ears.

Also, I found an old scrap called Life In A Silver Boxlying around that I had mixed and forgotten about. Part of me wants to go back and work with it more, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, so I encoded it as .mp3 and added it to the Discrepancy Site instead.

It's a beautiful day outside, but too hot for me. The 70-degree days have passed us by, looks like. Then again, it is June, isn't it? Oh well.
